Living Room.
Original red tile floors, doors, staircase, and windows. The room before 1987 was decorated with yellow walls, dark wood, and a paint blue ceiling. We were thrilled with the white decor added by the Hansens because it leaves the garden and art as the focal point. The house is very peaceful and serene. It’s hard to believe its in the middle of a busy neighborhood. Photo: https://www.southernhomemagazine.com/2018/04/06/a-storied-cottage/2/
Kitchen.
This tiny kitchen is almost all original. Eleanors tiles grace the oven hood and the window sills. The table is original as is the built in cabinets. We’re looking to update this room with minimal impact and let it extend out into the garden through the backdoor. We’re planning a glass garden house right outside the doors as a new dining room. Dining.
This gorgeous room features original mirror, table, and chairs. We’ll relocated the chairs into the living room and plan to move the table into a family room. This area was used for plays when the Bridges held their Sunday Salons. Actors would enter from either side with the audience sitting in the living room steps below.
